IPPC, ISPM-15 Compliant

Packaging material made from unprocessed wood is a key subsector for the introduction and spread of pests.

The International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 (ISPM-15) has been adopted, regulating wood-based packaging materials.

The purpose of this standard is to significantly reduce the spread of pests during trade exchanges.

Wooden Packaging

Wood packaging materials include pallets, cushioning, crates, packing boards, drums, wooden crates, loading trays, ring cases, and sleds, fully or partially made from raw timber of any coniferous or deciduous species, with a thickness greater than 6 mm.

France: ISPM-15 Compliant Wood packaging

These packaging solutions are made from debarked materials and:

have undergone one of the approved treatments listed in Annex I of ISPM-15: heat treatment (HT) at the core of the wood at 56°C for at least 30 minutes
have an identification mark that meets the specifications listed in Annex II of ISPM-15: the IPPC logo, the two-character ISO country code (FR), the producer's identification code (XX00000), and the identification code of the approved measure used: HT for France (MB for countries still using methyl bromide and DH = for countries that have implemented dielectric heating).
